My daughter was due to have her first baby and was being induced. From the moment that Amanda greeted her that morning she put all my daughter's fears aside. We were blessed with the care of Amanda throughout her entire shift and my daughter delivered just prior to Amanda leaving shift. Being a first-time mom, Amanda took the time to answer all of her questions, some even before she asked them. During the actual delivery, Amanda coached her the entire way with care and compassion. Myself, her Dad, and her husband were all present for the delivery. Amanda treated each of us with the utmost respect and compassion all the while making my daughter and her baby her top priority.
If we could clone Amanda's personality, compassion, knowledge and caring ability into every nurse that is at Regional this would be The Greatest health care facility in America. Hands down one of the best healthcare providers I have ever encountered.

While preparing to read the patient story for the DAISY Award Presentation this morning, Amanda had to answer the call of duty. There was a patient emergency that required immediate response and a stat Cesarean Section. Amanda was the CRN on duty at the time, and she immediately left her award presentation to help lead the team in caring for the patient. There were a tense few moments, but a great outcome. Amanda and the rest of the team put the needs of the patient before their own comfort or glory. This will be a DAISY presentation that will not soon be forgotten!
