She even took the time to check on my Papaw and our family on her day off, something that truly speaks to her dedication and compassion.
I would like to nominate Amanda for the DAISY Award in recognition of the extraordinary care and compassion she provided while caring for our loved one during his final days.

The American Nurses Association outlines seven key qualities that define a "good nurse": communication skills, empathy and compassion, critical thinking and problem-solving, attention to detail, integrity and advocacy, and a willingness to learn. These qualities form the foundation of what we expect from nurses and nursing teams. However, they remain mere words until truly embodied through action. Amanda Hardin exemplifies each of these qualities, demonstrating the true essence of an excellent nurse through her compassion, skill, resilience, empathy, and unwavering commitment to patient care. She is the perfect example of a nurse who not only cares for the body but also for the soul. During our time of loss, she brought our family comfort and helped us navigate the most difficult moments with dignity and respect.

Amanda’s care went beyond physical treatment—she made sure that my Papaw was as comfortable and dignified as possible, which was our greatest wish. She fully understood the gravity of the situation and always ensured he was not in pain and at peace. Her compassion extended to the entire family, offering support at a time when we needed it most.

What makes Amanda truly remarkable is her ability to build a personal connection with our family. Her kindness and dedication far exceeded what was expected of her, becoming a vital source of comfort for all of us. She even took the time to check on my Papaw and our family on her day off, something that truly speaks to her dedication and compassion. Amanda embodies everything that makes nursing such an honorable profession. Her empathy, professionalism, and grace will forever be remembered.

Thank you, Amanda, for being a beacon of light during such a difficult time. You are deeply appreciated, and you truly represent the very best of what the nursing profession has to offer.
