Amanda

BSN, RN
Amanda was the first person I “saw” after being admitted from the ER. Her whole demeanor and attitude towards me and her job of getting me admitted into my room was both professional and friendly. She immediately put me at ease at a time when I was pretty anxious about my lung and heart health.
Amanda was able to answer all of my questions, especially related to all of the tests and medications that I had yet to begin in preparation for getting evaluated for a bilateral lung transplant. She helped me fight my fears and my anxiety by letting me know what the surgery was going to look like. She always calmed me, just by her sweet personality, her calm demeanor, and most importantly, her professionalism. I think that she always gives 120% of herself to her job and she is always willing to go that extra mile for her patients.
The VA is so lucky to have Amanda, and I will be eternally grateful that Amanda was my nurse for many days, weeks, months I was inpatient at the Madison VA Hospital.
