Amanda had a very unkempt gentleman come in through the ED and took the time to take him to the shower room to bathe him. Fresh smelling soap and shampoo! During the process of helping him get clean, she found a wound on his back that needed immediate attention. Had she not taken the extra step to help him bathe the wound may have gone unnoticed. This patient did get admitted and also resulted in him getting a nursing home bed and the care he needed.
