My husband was in the hospital fighting cancer and C diff colitis. After being in the hospital for over a week he developed an E. coli infection. Sunday morning his blood pressure went critically low. Amanda was there through it all. She was supporting my husband and me all while doing her nursing job. She got it cleared to have our daughter in the room as well. Amanda knew how important it was to have family in the room while going through all the thought processes we needed to work through that day and the following day. Amanda was with my husband for three days. She got to know him, me, and our daughter through this difficult situation. When she left on her last shift she got my husband to eat a bite of cheese “Just for her”! She checked in with us before she left; we all were in tears! Her care for her patients and their families is outstanding.
