December 2023 Honoree
Amanda Kern 2023, BSN, RN
Our family member was admitted to the ICU unit and transferred to Palliative Care. As he transitioned, we felt his needs were changing. While advocating for him, emotions arose. Amanda had Dr. and other staff get involved. Dealing with families in a time of grief can be a struggle. Amanda was professional and ultimately had her patient’s welfare in mind. She sat with him daily when the dust settled. Clearing the air and seeing that all our needs and goals for him were met. The staff on this floor have been amazing. This was a tiny glitch in our otherwise remarkable journey here at RMH. Nurses are angels of mercy. I wish Amanda a long and happy career as God’s right hand. Thank you!
Thank you, Amanda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
