All of my nurses were kind and compassionate, but Mandy Kurschinske was extra special. No matter how busy she was or how long and overworked she was, Mandy always managed to check on me, whether it was just to say "Hi", wave, or stop in my room for a few minutes, and that was when she wasn't my assigned nurse. I had a lot of complications and was in the hospital for a total of 5 1/2 weeks, and I almost lost my life and my leg. It was the most traumatic time in my life. I credit Mandy's visits for keeping me positive and helping me not get depressed or give up. I thank God daily for Mandy, her positive influence, and her smile that kept me moving forward in my recovery. The world needs more Mandy Kurschinskes in it!
