Amanda Loney is an LPN in the Venango CBOC. It is with great pride that I wish to recognize her.
There have been many veterans who have walked through the CBOC doors, who have encountered Amanda.
She always has a smile, and states...." Hello, can I help you?"
She has been an educator to the veterans on so many subjects-diabetes, wound care, etc. Take the case where a patient came into the clinic, a lesion on the chest wall, provider notified-tele-derm needed, and she obtained an appointment at another clinic, same day. A patient calls into the clinic and is unsure what dose of Metoprolol he is to be on, and she finds records from Pitts VA and incorporates it into the note to the provider to find the correct dose. Diabetic new to injectable insulin, she took the time to teach while she was posting patients this day.
I have watched her take time with her veterans, even when she really doesn't have it, she makes time. She makes them feel as if they are the only person that matters. She makes them feel at ease, comfortable as if they have just come home.
She allows them to ask questions. She is compassionate. She empathizes with them. She has cried with them. She consoles them.
We are so very blessed to have her on our team, here at the clinic.
She always tells the veterans..." Have a Wonderful Day."
She is always on hand to lend a hand, help out, assist with others.
She is a dedicated, hard worker.
Gives 100% to the veterans.
I have watched her call veterans just to check in on them and let them know she is here for them, especially during this pandemic. She asks, "do you have enough food? Is anyone checking on you?"
