Amanda Bushway has been a Step-Down Unit nurse for the last year and a half. She has made great strides since starting out as a new grad nurse. This nomination is on behalf of a lovely patient and family member compliment in the form of a written letter:
Dear Administrators, May I take a few moments from your beleaguered schedules? To share a day at Mount Auburn? As seniors unexpectedly being sucked into a "big black hole," we found we were not alone...the unsolicited, genuine, and exceptionally tenderhearted words and services by Stanton 6 nurse, Amanda Bushway, shall never be forgotten...giving inner strength where there was none...illuminating the path to navigate infinity and beyond. We would like to recognize this nurse for her going above and beyond. No matter a complex, "draining the soul" healthcare system, no matter the long hours and demands put upon her, she found it within herself, without equivocating, to express a caringness towards us in our moment of need- we were not alone.
