I was in your Emergency Department for breathing troubles. I was taken to the ED by Prompt Care. Once in the ED, your front desk staff was extremely helpful. When I reached my room, I was greeted by Amanda, my RN. From the time I arrived and through all my tests Amanda rarely left my side. I was advised by my family later that the ED waiting room was very full. I have been to the ED many times before with my kids and relatives. I have always felt your staff was professional and good at what they do but I have never experienced the sincerity and concern that Amanda showed me. I was eventually diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolisms. Amanda stayed by my side with blood thinner waiting for the order to be entered so she could give it to me as soon as possible. Amanda was very good to my family and answered all of their questions as well as she could and if she didn't know the answer she found out. She helped put my family at ease. Amanda was by my side until I was admitted to post ICU and played a large part in getting me assigned to post ICU. I wanted you to know what an asset Amanda is to your staff. Because of her I will only be using OSF facilities for my family's care. Please thank her for me.
