My labor experience at Guthrie Sayre Hospital was one for the books, an experience I'll never forget. I attempted to have a TOLAC with our sweet girl, and well, things didn't go as planned. Before I was so anxious to attempt such procedure with the pros and cons of attempting TOLAC, but I just was so ready to have our baby girl and really wanted to give this a shot!

People would ask, leading up to the big day of induction, "Are you nervous?" In which I would respond no, I just don't want to end up in a c-section. Well, long story short, I had that C-section, and let me tell you why it was possible: my nurse, Amanda.

There are people who walk into your life for just a moment, but leave an imprint on your heart forever, and Amanda was one of them.

She didn't just do her job; she poured her whole heart into it. From the moment I arrived, she was a steady presence, anticipating my needs, reassuring me when I felt overwhelmed, and offering both comfort and strength when I needed it most. She wiped my tears, celebrated every small victory, and made me feel like I wasn't just a patient; I was seen, heard, and deeply cared for.

In the most vulnerable hours of my life, she became family. Her compassion, her confidence, and her selfless support will stay with me always, and I will never forget the way she helped bring my baby into the world with grace, skill, and love.

After hours of a long shift, Amanda stayed on to help deliver my baby girl and stopped in afterward to hold her, which made me so happy to see the end of this journey with the one who encouraged me from the moment I became her patient! For her, I am forever grateful!

"Everything happens for a reason" is a quote I love already, but that day my nurse Amanda reminded me of this throughout the delivery, and for that I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.

Thank you, Amanda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
