Amanda Murray, RN

Ms. Murray is RN in the Urgent Care Department at the Manchester VA Medical Center.  She was nominated by a patient she cared for in Urgent Care. This Veteran who was being seen in Urgent Care shares a story about Ms. Murray and the way she treats all patients with respect and dignity.  The nomination states “when the MD arrived to evaluate me she introduced me to the doctor instead of turning to the doctor and talking about me.”  This is a powerful example of how the nurse often sets the tone for the patient's experience.  This example exemplifies Ms. Murray’s nursing practice and the caring, human side of the nursing profession even during the busiest and most challenging of times.
