Amanda Pates provides excellent care and special acts of kindness. She gave the best bath and washed my hair after being critically ill and she makes me feel like a real person again. Although the hair was a tangled mess, Amanda took the time and patience to untangle my hair like no other person has offered to do.

The patient bragged about the nurse's communication skills and bedside manner and stated that she felt safe in her hands. Without the patient's knowledge, Amanda took it upon herself to purchase a grilled cheese for the patient when it was too late to retrieve from Dietary. Sometimes the acts of kindness our nurses provide often go overlooked. Amanda has the compassion and provides excellent care for her patients. It is refreshing to see that the patients recognize this commitment. Sometimes the endless stress of caring for patients results in tears and sometimes we wonder if anyone cares.
On this day we recognize that just because you don't see it, doesn't mean anyone doesn't care or take notice….today was a day of recognizing the little things that matter to our patients.
