Going in for procedures at a hospital is always filled with some anxiety. When you are a male in your 50s and you are going in for "that" procedure there really is a feeling of uneasiness. I have always had quality service at Sauk Prairie Healthcare, but there was something very special about this trip. Having masks on everyone seems to have taken some of the "personal" side away from many encounters. However, no mask was going to stop the pleasantness and patience of my nurse, Amanda Peetz. From a simple thing like taking my vitals, to asking questions, to going over the time frame of the procedure, my anxiety was put at ease by her. I could sense her care and concern and truly appreciate the time she took to just make sure I was informed, comfortable and relaxed. Without me even mentioning it, she shared that as soon as the procedure was done she would check on me and have some food waiting. After over a 24 hour clear diet, she wanted to make sure I was taken care of. She also promised to be in touch with my daughter as to when I would be ready to be picked up. These things may all be expected, but the level of care and kindness Amanda showed went above and beyond. I want to say a special thank you to her and the staff at Sauk Prairie Healthcare. Our community is very lucky to have such a tremendous facility and incredible people that work there.
