Amanda Powe, LPN

I entered the hospital with extreme faintness and could not sit up or stand. Diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation, with Parkinson's complications, I was admitted for care. During my three-day stay, I received excellent attention from everyone. But Amanda, one of my nurses, stood out. She was very attentive to my needs, thoroughly explained everything that was occurring, and displayed a sincere attitude towards my situation. She took the time to be friendly and concerned. She proved to be extremely competent and effective. During the course of several conversations, I learned a little of her history. She has overcome extreme personal hardships to achieve a successful career as a very caring nurse. It is my pleasure to recommend her for consideration of this DAISY Award as an Extraordinary Nurse.
