Amanda works tirelessly to provide support our PCTs and CNAs! She helps them achieve their clinical ladder goals and is frequently advocating for their continued education. Amanda enthusiastically stepped in to help PSVMC Float Pool get their Earn to Learn Program going in 2023 and has continued to support this initiative in 2024. We greatly appreciate her passion and support of our caregivers!

Amanda has stepped up to help educate our PCTs and CNAs through bootcamps and skills days. She has been a valuable asset to the Earn to Learn program by being available to answer any and all questions thrown at her by Leadership teams. Our PCTs and CNAs rave about her by name for her skills knowledge and gift for teaching. She is a role model and mentor who leads by example showing our new CNAs and PCTs a path forward in their careers.

I believe Amanda Prescott is very deserving of the DAISY Nurse Educator award. She began her career here as a CNA, advanced to get her RN and worked in the pediatric and PICU units as a charge nurse and preceptor before taking on a nurse educator position. She has always given 100% in whichever role she has been in, and has been a driver for positive change. She loves teaching, and it is evident. From running mock codes to getting the peds and PICU staff signed off on yearly competencies to teaching at Clinical Academy, she does it all with enthusiasm and joy. She helps the staff to engage in critical thinking to build their skills and knowledge and works well with both management and bedside RNs and CNAs. I would love to see Amanda receive this award.

Amanda has been a PHENOMENAL pediatric nurse educator from the moment she took over. She makes her presence known on the unit, finds issues that need to be addressed, helps troubleshoot and empower staff to make decisions and changes, and follows up on all support we need. Since she became a nurse educator, we have had clearer annual competencies, regular skills practice, regular time during staff meetings to see her and have her assist with current unit issues, regular education sways, major improvements to orientation onboarding packets, and SO MUCH MORE. I have been so impressed with her from day 1, and we are so extremely lucky to have her as our peds educator. Thank you, Amanda!
