I met Amanda under the worst of circumstances. At 19 weeks pregnant, it was confirmed that my baby did not have a heartbeat and I would have to deliver him. Throughout the night, she checked on me not only physically but emotionally. She offered my husband and I support through this difficult time. She helped deliver my baby and gave me a beautiful but devastating birth experience.
After my baby was delivered, Amanda placed him on me for me to hold. She gave my husband and me privacy to grieve the loss of our son but continued to check on us and offer support in any way possible. She carefully measured and weighed our son and placed him in a beautiful crochet cradle. She took his footprints and handprints and placed them into a scrapbook for us to take home. She also sent us home with a disc containing photos of our son. We knew we had to leave him at some point and return home to our daughter. Amanda gave us the opportunity to keep the cradle she placed him in, but we decided to leave him wrapped in it for comfort. I will forever cherish those moments with my son, and I have Amanda to thank for allowing me to make those memories with him.
