August 2018 Honoree
amanda rochon, RN
Amanda was put in a high-pressure situation when I was admitted to labor and delivery at eight centimeters and in tremendous pain. Within 20 minutes of arrival in the delivery room - my child was born. She was also training a student who had never seen a natural delivery before. Amanda stayed exceptionally calm and was so encouraging and helpful to me. She talked the student through what was happening clearly and calmly and even caught the baby when I had to push and the doctor was out of the room. The speed at which my labor and delivery progressed could have been very stressful and panicked, but Amanda took everything as it came and made it a calm, controlled experience for everyone. She was absolutely the best nurse I could have asked for in my situation and she deserves to be recognized.
Thank you, Amanda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
