Amanda goes above and beyond for every patient she cares for. Day in and day out, she commits herself to making sure her patients are receiving the care they deserve. I’ve worked multiple shifts with her where she skips her lunch to make sure her patients come first. No matter their age or diagnosis, she commits to being the best nurse she can. With her bubbly personality and contagious positivity, she never fails to make these patients' day. If I ever needed a nurse, Amanda is exactly who I would want to care for me! She has a beautiful, Disney-like voice that captures children’s attention and brings a sense of calm and comfort. She frequently steps in to help others without ever being asked, whether it’s assisting with patient care, offering guidance, or helping during especially busy moments. She is truly deserving of this recognition. I just got out of orientation, and Amanda was the second nurse on the unit. She knew that and told me if I needed anything to ask her. She checked in on me multiple times throughout my shift. Even stating “I got your back, girl” when I felt like I was asking her a lot of questions. Amanda is always there to support her colleagues. She is also VERY interactive with the patients. I was having a very rough shift, and this RN noticed that and took time to hold one of my fussy patients for me. She always comes to work with a great attitude, and it is contagious throughout the entire unit.
