Amanda has gone above and beyond in her new position at home hospital. We receive praise and letters from patients sharing about the care she provides. It is recognitions like these that make this program a success. Recently, I received a 3-page letter from a patient. I would like to share excerpts from this letter to demonstrate Amanda’s kindness, consideration and the care that she provided.
The patient writes: "There have been very few times in my life that I have been rendered speechless, but unfortunately for you, this will not be one of those times. I have so much to share regarding the home hospital program and my experience with it. An angel walked up to my gurney and asked my name. She excused herself and then returned to tell me that it appeared I was eligible for a new pilot program. This was a new program being offered at the hospital. She explained the premise of the program and when she told me there are only 5 patients in the program at a time I began to cry. I could see God’s hand at that moment! I couldn’t wait to be admitted into the program and by the following morning I was!
"Now for the best part… I had the most wonderful nurse coming twice a day to administer my medications, check my vitals, follow my progress and spend time with me. Amanda never seemed rushed or impatient. I truly believe that I would never have received this attention had I been in the hospital. Every need was attended to, almost immediately. I was monitored constantly, and all my medications were administered at home including all IV meds. In addition, the command center monitoring was so over the top that I was blown away! I would get a call or video chat as soon as something appeared to be the least bit off. Amanda's smile and compassion made me feel safe, and confident in the program and I will forever be grateful!"
