Amanda has actually been our nurse on more than one occasion. My son has an ongoing medical condition, and we are unfortunately "frequent fliers". Amanda has known my family for many years. A few years ago, after an automobile accident, she was my nurse as well. Amanda has a warm presence that is very soothing. If she is not the nurse assigned to my son, she will stop in and say hello to us and ask if we need anything. She is always comforting and compassionate and makes stays in the ER or hospital seem brighter with her presence.

Most recently, after an event where my son had multiple seizures, Amanda peeked in to check on us. She made T laugh and chatted for a few minutes about life, and how long they had known each other. Living with a brain injury can feel very isolating, and Amanda reaches out EVERY TIME from a place of genuine caring whether she is T's nurse or not. This time when we left, my son T talked about her kindness to him.

Over the years Amanda has displayed the perfect mix of professionalism, caring, and warmth. She's quite wonderful. On a side note, I've been in the ER with my son (who is an adult) at times when things are VERY busy. Amanda doesn't let on to any of that. She is simply there with her big heart. When Amanda gives this kind of support, it allows me to feel supported too. And most of all T.
