Amanda Smith 2024, BSN, RN

Amanda demonstrated excellence while caring for a pediatric patient in the ED. She was taking an assignment at the beginning of her shift and immediately was concerned about this patient's situation: the reason for the visit. She notified me (charge RN) that the police should be contacted. Upon further investigation/discussion, the patient disclosed very important details to Amanda that could have easily been overlooked. She showed compassion, advocacy, dedication, and excellence in many ways. We are truly lucky to have a nurse like her. This was a very important situation, and she went above and beyond to ensure this patient's safety.
