Amanda spent most of her time with me during my cancer treatment, like she was my daughter. I never thought a stranger who has to come to my life as a nurse due to my sickness could develop such a connection that I feel I have another family member with me all the time. Amanda learned my medical history, took care of my everyday needs, and informed every doctor and nurse about my medical history and change of status and medications. She made me feel very comfortable during my treatment. I knew I had her who was able to take care of my treatment, medications, and needs.
Amanda took several hours overtime, separated from her family, just to make sure I received the best treatment possible while I was in the hospital. This mentality made me feel very happy and relaxed every time because I had the same lovely nurse every time when I came to the hospital to do my treatment. She was energetic, happy, and very polite to me all the time. Most of the time she fulfilled the workload as a nurse and the PCT at the same time. She was always the first who was asking me if I need anything and took care of it immediately.
Amanda was an outstanding, very knowledgeable medical professional, who treated me just like her family member. She made me feel like her father or older brother. Due to her outstanding work and mentality, I would never forget my time here in this hospital. I would recommend the hospital for all of my friends if they ever needed any medical help. Due to my experience with Amanda, I found a new friend for the rest of my life and it's made me very happy.

Amanda Starnes, RN has gone above and beyond taking care of this patient and developed a strong professional relationship with Mr. K. He is literally fighting for his life and Amanda has volunteered to work multiple extra shifts, especially when he was admitted every 3-4 weeks to ensure his Chemotherapy Treatment and ensuing neutropenic episodes were given exceptional care. She limited staff going into the room after he became neutropenic and provided primary care, to ensure that he did not come into contact with multiple organisms.
