Amanda is a charge nurse on 4MTU who always leads by example she takes the time to assist with the needs of her co-workers. She is fair to everyone. On this day, Amanda’s team had high acuity and was very busy. At the end of her shift Amanda noticed a coworker struggling with a discharge. She jumped right in to help and stayed over to teach her coworker how to discharge the patient. She was informed that a patient on the unit missed their dinner because they had been off the unit for surgery. Amanda went to Wendy’s across the street to and bought dinner for a patient so they wouldn’t have to go to bed hungry. She never leaves before she knows that staff and patients on our unit is taken care of. She always puts the units needs in front of her own. We are blessed to have Amanda as part of our team. 4MTU staff
