Most of all Amanda is always kind and compassionate. I never walk into her department without receiving a warm greeting and a smile.
Amanda is a creative and innovative leader. She is well connected with her staff and works to help them find joy in their work while working cohesively as a team. Amanda also asks her staff to put the patient first in all they do. She has asked me (Care experience practice leader) to come and talk to her PACU staff about HCAHPS scores and how their work influences these scores. She has asked to be on the distribution list for the weekly updates of the scores and posts them in her department. She is the only ANM who has done this.
She has initiated a "baby picture of the month" program in which one staff member submits a baby picture of themselves with a description of their childhood and the rest of the staff guess who the staff member is. This has brought laugher to the group as well as helping staff members get to know each other better. She is always finding ways to celebrate with her staff and pre-covid did a lot of baking for them. She has the staff generate their own practice goals and hold themselves responsible to them via posted data. She is up-to-date on all improvement measures and takes an active role in helping implement them in her department.
Most of all Amanda is always kind and compassionate. I never walk into her department without receiving a warm greeting and a smile.
