My 23-year-old sister was in the ICU for seven days. It was a long, stressful week. She was admitted to the ICU with acute respiratory failure and influenza. She was then put on a ventilator. We did not know what to expect. There were different nurses.

Amanda came towards the end, but she was amazing. She bonded with my sister and made her feel safe, as she was very anxious after going through something so traumatic. She cared for my sister and cared about her getting better. Even when we voiced our concerns, she showed empathy. She didn't get aggravated with us. She understood. She did her job, but she also treated us like real human beings. Even after my sister was discharged from her care, she still thought of her. Amanda was very kind, and we thank her!
