...After post-op, I was taken to Stepdown, joined there by my wife. The nurse on duty was Amanda Walters. From the moment nurse Walters introduced herself to my wife and me, her professional bearing and dedication to patient care were obvious. At that time, I was experiencing sharp pain and general discomfort. In addition to administering to my immediate physical needs, nurse Walters conveyed to me a sense of care and encouragement that was very comforting. She explained and discussed the medication I would be taking to both me and my wife, highlighting their purpose and what to expect after taking them. She answered our questions, thoroughly making sure we understood. With each successive visit, she displayed her trademark patience and professional manner. Both my wife and I agree nurse Walters is a cut above and deserving of the DAISY Award.
