An elderly woman came into the hospital today asking to use the bathroom. She was being transported from the Richmond area to her home in Chase City, per the driver. After being in the bathroom, I checked on her to ensure she was ok. She assured me that she was. Checking on her a second time, I believed she required more assistance. I contacted Amanda, the clinical administrator, explained the situation, and informed her that it required more than I could provide. Amanda immediately acknowledged she would help; when Amanda arrived prepared to help this individual, she discovered that professional care was most definitely needed to prepare this individual to continue her transport home.

Amanda handled this situation with the utmost professionalism and compassion. She provided fresh clothing and escorted the woman to the transport vehicle. Amanda assured this individual that no apology was necessary. Amanda was happy to help in her time of need. Amanda also thanked me for notifying her and followed up with EVS for assistance.
