Amanda began making bracelets for the Decatur Morgan Hospital Palliative team to give to patients' families experiencing the loss of loved ones in the hospital.
This nurse’s clinical skills demonstrate high-quality care and service that will improve the health of those we serve. Her compassionate care exemplifies the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model.

Amanda decided to start making “butterfly bracelets” to be given to family members who lost a loved one here at DMH. I want to add that she started this endeavor during a time of great personal loss. Here is what the Palliative Team has to say about her contribution: “Amanda Williams, RN is a very caring and compassionate nurse who always goes the extra mile for others. Amanda began making bracelets for the Decatur Morgan Hospital Palliative team to give to patients' families experiencing the loss of loved ones in the hospital. As a member of the Palliative team that gives the bracelets to families, I am always overwhelmed by the family’s responses to such a simple gesture. Often when I give out bracelets I will see family members wearing them during my return visits with the patient. Recently one family member told me she would not take her bracelet off because it meant more to her than anything during her mother's last moments. Another family member wanted me to thank Amanda for making the bracelets and that it meant so much to her that someone would do that for others. I would like to recognize Amanda Williams as a DAISY Nurse for her small act of kindness which has such a powerful impact on the lives of our patient's families.”
