Amanda spearheaded a group to standardize the CLABSI education that goes to patient families after seeing a need in her own clinic and in Med-Surg. She gathered members for the group, scheduled the meetings, wrote numerous e-mails, drafts, minutes, agendas, etc. to get all of the information together. She presented it to individual groups, physicians, parents, and administrators. This is not something that will touch one or two patients, this is a project that will literally touch thousands of patients in and out of Children's Hospital and goes above and beyond demonstrating clinical excellence. Amanda took her job to heart, identified a gap, and then filled that gap. I believe that as a whole, we will be able to watch our infection rates decrease and know that this rollout had a lot to do with that.
