November 2025 Honoree
Ambar Diaz-Camacho, ASN, RN
Ambar spent over an hour speaking to and translating for a patient who was actively in alcohol withdrawal, even though he was not her assigned patient. She was a calming and supportive presence for him as she worked to reorient him and ensure his safety.
She also asked him questions ensuring he understood what she was saying and explained his answers to the team so that he could receive the best care possible. Her dedication to this patient ensured that crucial details were not missed due to a language barrier since the ODI had already proven ineffective and there were no in-house interpreters immediately available.
Ambar truly went above and beyond to help this patient in addition to handling her own patient assignment.
