She dedicates her time to always making our unit and hospital not only safer but up to date on the newest techniques and research that benefit and help our population. She comes up with creative ways to keep the staff engaged and active with simulation drills and monthly case studies.
Amber Beatty is an experienced educator who exemplifies leadership and adaptability in her role. Amber is always the first to step up and cover leadership needs/project leads when they arise, and she does it with compassion and integrity. Her background is in NICU nursing/education, but you would never know it! She jumps in head first to learn and educate all the adult departments and cover as interim educator when needed. She has been interim educator over Labor and Delivery (twice), the adult oncology unit, ICU/NCCU/PCU, and is currently supporting the adult Emergency Department. She has also supported in a leadership role/POC for the East Market on multiple occasions. Amber exemplifies excellence in all she does and is a consistent voice of reason for her team and department. Residents and leaders frequently recognize Amber for her dedication and unwavering support. I would also like to recognize and thank Amber for her dedication and support as my preceptor when I transitioned into the education role.

Amber Beatty is the definition of the Methodist Hospital mission, vision, and value system that we hold dear. She always makes herself available to help and educate. She goes above and beyond for the NICU at MHSO as well as coordinating new hires throughout the hospital. She dedicates her time to always making our unit and hospital not only safer but up to date on the newest techniques and research that benefit and help our population. She comes up with creative ways to keep the staff engaged and active with simulation drills and monthly case studies. In her personal time, she has helped numerous staff members with required education when their schedules didn't permit them to attend the scheduled class times. She makes sure no one is ever left behind. She is a valued source of information for not only the NICU but also the system. She is truly a remarkable team member and an invaluable educator. MHSO is so lucky to have her on their team!

Amber is constantly going out of her way to help educate all staff on Mother/Baby and NICU. She is the NICU nurse educator; however, her expertise was needed to help implement AAP guidelines for safe sleep in the Mother/Baby unit. The OT in the NICU was working to increase the knowledge of safe sleep on this unit and Amber went out of her way to help not only with handouts but also working on a monthly learning activity to increase knowledge along with improving safety in the hospital. She has also worked with this OT on several other endeavors including implementing safe sleep items in the NICU, increasing overall knowledge through learning activities in regard to positioning, and working on improving information on neurodevelopmental.
