My son was sent to the ED by his pediatrician and then admitted to the hospital for New onset of type 2 diabetes mellitus. He was scared, terrified, and had so much information thrown at him on his care plan. Amber took her time and spent so much time with my son teaching him and explaining how to check his glucose and give his insulin properly and also do his carb to insulin math charts to know how much insulin to give. She was so calm, understanding, and empathetic to him and knew how much he needed her compassion those two days while he was admitted.
