Amber is a compassionate caring nurse. She is always positive and works well with all members of the health care team. Amber is a very experienced ICU nurse. She not only focuses on meeting the needs of patients and families, but she also ensures that all members/staff are able to provide safe care to patients.
When Amber is in charge, she always makes sure that the assignment is safe and fair. Amber always makes herself available to assist nurses who have challenging assignments to ensure the best possible outcome for all patients. Today, we have a challenging staff situation. We had a crashing patient from the floor transferred to our unit at the beginning of the shift. Amber volunteered to take this challenging patient assignment, on top of her charge nurse role, instead of assigning this patient to one of the staff.
The above is one of many examples that Amber always does to make sure that staff has a safe assignment, but also to ensure that patients receive the best possible safe/quality care as well.
Amber is an outstanding role model ICU nurse and a true DAISY Nurse.
