March 2026 Honoree
Amber Ehlers, RN
My sibling had to have back surgery, which took several hours. My sibling was extremely nervous, as were all the family members with my sibling that day. The past year and a half have been an absolute nightmare for my sibling. Everything started when my sibling fell in the shower, breaking a shoulder, ankle, and leg. My sibling had two surgeries and was essentially bedridden for months. During this time, my sibling’s spouse also passed away from a chronic disease. The pair had two hospital beds in their living room with 24-hour care. My sibling had been taken care of by many healthcare providers. When my sibling was brought to the hospital room after the procedure, my sibling was greeted by Amber. Amber was gentle and kind; she worked efficiently and explained what she was doing as she went. My sibling understood what everything was for by the time Amber had things settled. Amber’s number one concern was my siblings' comfort, which meant the world to us. She made sure we were comfortable as well and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. We were so impressed and deeply grateful.
Thank you, Amber, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
