Her outgoing, energetic personality draws you in, and her soft and considerate ways make you appreciate her love for her job.
I have been blessed to be able to stay here at Providence for my delivery. Coming from a small community, I’m used to seeing the same provider and nurse care for myself and my children. I had no idea the staff would rotate so often in a hospital; from the time I arrived until now, I believe I’ve had around six doctors come and go, six general day or night shift doctors, and about 8-10 various nurses…today is my 4th day in the hospital. I don’t mind the constant change in staff. Everyone has been so nice, helpful, and informative. When I met Amber, my nurse, I felt like she would provide the same care as all other employees, but I was very wrong. Amber has a lot on her plate as a nurse. Her job is demanding, and I’m sure at times trying; however, she came across as kind, gentle and compassionate. Her outgoing, energetic personality draws you in, and her soft and considerate ways make you appreciate her love for her job. Amber was the nurse who took her time explaining to me why she did what procedure she was acting out, whether it was changing my sore IV, encouraging me to relax in the shower and rest, or changing out my linens and making sure I was totally comfortable before her shift was completed; furthermore, sticking around (3 hours after her shift) to assist the new shift with various projects. Amber is what patients think of when they want someone who can provide informative care with a gentle and kind touch.
