Earlier this year, my wife and I were attending a movie at the Patriot IMAX in Lawton. While waiting in line I began to feel ill and then passed out in the front of the concession area. My wife was panicked as I was unresponsive and was asking for help from patrons in the line. My wife stated that a lady dropped all her things and rushed to her side. This lady identified herself as a Critical Care nurse from Comanche County Memorial Hospital and that she was there to help my wife. She advised my wife to contact 911 and then began assessing me and at the same time keeping my wife calm. She related the information my wife needed to tell 911 and began procedures to revive me back to consciousness. She stayed with my wife until I was placed in the ambulance reassuring her. She refused to be reimbursed for her missed movie and stated she had only done her job. Mrs. James is an asset and a perfect example of the nursing staff at your hospital. Her willingness to help a perfect stranger when she could have just stayed back and not been involved shows her professionalism and compassion. My wife and I will never forget her actions and dedication to her profession. I am very appreciative of her quick action selflessness.
