May 2026 Honoree
Amber Jones 2026, RN
I came in with an infection in my thumb, which went all the way to the bone. I also suffer from clinical depression and often have thoughts of suicide and I was really depressed during my stay here and at the beginning I did not want to fight I just wanted to die. I kept that to myself, and before I knew it, Amber had me smiling and ok. She not only helped me get physiologically better, but I feel no depression, and I physically feel good. Without this amazing nurse, I don’t think I would have gotten better so quickly, and I no longer want my life to end. She was and is very good at her job. I did not tell her about my depression. She recognized what would help and just did it and when I leave here healthy and emotionally feeling a lot better, I don’t feel like a nurse did her job well I feel like an amazing, kind, caring person spent time making sure that I feel better emotionally and physically. She was the most professional nurse, but she treated me like a real person. I believe she does this job because she is a kind and caring person. I believe she does this from her heart, and that the paycheck is a secondary benefit; she does this very difficult job out of love for her fellow humans. She deserves the best life, and I hope she gets it.

During my stay, I had so many health concerns and two open wounds. Amber was there every second I needed her for pain meds, dozens of dressing changes, walking to and from the restroom, a million med passes, and all the as-needed meds and pain meds. Amber was attentive, patient, kind, selfless, outgoing, and a pure joy to be around. I was very sick, and I didn’t have any friends or family nearby. Amber took the time to make extra stops by my room to ensure I was ok and to try to say something funny to get me to laugh. She is one of the best RNs I have ever had. She was never annoyed or frustrated; she was amazing. MWMC has a real diamond on your team. That is why I believe she deserves the DAISY Award.
