I have had the pleasure of working with Amber for many years and have seen the wonderful care that she provides to patients, as well as her helpful nature with staff. There have been multiple instances when I feel that she has gone above and beyond her duties when providing patient care. Today was no exception. Post-operatively I was helping care for a patient and when she woke, she immediately began asking for Amber. I explained that Amber left for the day already, and she became tearful and shared that she was so thankful for Amber holding her hand until her anesthesia took effect. She stated that she was very apprehensive about what brought her here worried about the outcome of the procedure and that she had a rough couple of days. Amber made her feel safe and she wanted to thank her. This is just one example of how Amber has consistently made a difference in our department and with patients. Her attention to detail helped her to see that the patient needed comfort during a scary time. Understanding that the unknown is stress-inducing and taking the time to let that patient know that we are here for her is what sets Amber apart from others. She exemplifies the quality of nurse that is Premier Proud and definitely takes pride in her role.
