I have thought of nominating Amber for the DAISY Award every day since I had been in the hospital because Amber was a phenomenal nurse. She was the first person after a knee replacement surgery to explain to me how I could use the gait belt...she gave me kind, detailed instructions on how it would help me gain independence by getting out of bed all on my own, how it would help strengthen me and why, and why it would be less painful for me to do so.
Amber always took the extra time and compassion to ask how she could help every time she saw me. She had fantastic energy (warm, calm, and kind) was very down-to-earth, personable, and made me feel comforted and at ease...even when I was in a lot of pain. If I could give Amber 10 DAISY Awards, I would. I just cannot say enough great things about her. Thank you, Amber you were such an amazing help!
