Amber Miller 2024, BSN, RN, OCN

On my first day of infusion treatment, my wife and I were like two deer caught in the headlights. We were still in shock over the cancer diagnosis. So when we both arrived for my first chemo, Amber Miller met us. She was like a light in the storm. She was kind, caring, and professional and made both my wife and I feel safe, understood, and cared about. Amber took the time to explain in detail the process of the treatments, side effects, and safety precautions and for me to let her know if at any time I was uncomfortable. Even on the days that she isn't the nurse assigned for my treatment, she always makes a point to come over and say hello and ask how I am doing. I must say, however, that she is in the company of other wonderful nurses in this department. 

To feel & know you are not only going to receive the best care possible but that the person who is taking care of you is genuinely concerned for your health, comfort, and mental being. All of this is amongst taking care of other patients, assisting other members of their team and still demonstrating such a positive outlook as well as a positive environment, I truly do not know how these men and women do it. But I am so very glad they do, and my wife and I are grateful we have them helping us through this.
