Amber Tolliver and R, a Social Worker, talked with me extensively about my issues and challenges. They listened patiently. They showed compassion and sympathy. They didn't judge me or make me feel bad about my issues. They worked and are working to get me the help and services I need. They didn't treat me like a number. They didn't do a "check the box" job. They took their time. I didn't feel rushed. They didn't act like they had somewhere better to be. They weren't checking their phone or watches. I felt seen and heard.

I was depressed and had been dealing with suicidal thoughts (not current, but this past time), and when I walked out, I felt better. I felt some sense of control. I feel hope. I am grateful. Dr. M did the same. Hopefully, my physical and mental health will get better. A lot of complaints and gripes are heard and written about the VA and its staff. But how often do the VA and staff get a good job or compliment when they do right? The superb job Amber, R, and Dr. M did is how you help a veteran, how you save a life, how you prevent the 22 days! Keep these employees. Good job, and keep up the good work 10/10 experience and service.

Congrats, ladies, you saved another veteran's life! Amber even gave me a hug when I got upset. Let this be a teaching example of how one does the job properly!
