This simple gesture highlights Amber’s desire to help people and reinforces that patient care isn’t just the clinical component but also the emotional component.
Amber Parks, of 9 South Infants and Toddlers, provided care to our daughter, E, since her admission. All of the care we received was exceptional. Amber regularly and consistently showed our family a whole new level of care, from her clinical expertise, compassion, knowledge, advocacy, and everything in between.
No hospital stay is easy, but it can be even harder when it’s your seven-week-old daughter who needs medical care. Amber has made our hospitalization easier for us through her time, discussions, and the highest level of compassion. My wife and I, like many, had a challenging road to becoming parents. Our daughter E is our miracle. Early in our admission, I knew my wife’s first Mother’s Day was going to be spent in the hospital; not what any spouse hopes for, but we were together and here for our daughter. Without prompt, Amber inquired if my wife would want to complete a Mother’s Day craft with our daughter. Although simple, this gesture gave my wife a gift and happy memories that she will remember forever at a time when she needed it most. This simple gesture highlights Amber’s desire to help people and reinforces that patient care isn’t just the clinical component but also the emotional component. Amber is a valuable asset to the staff and any patients she interacts with.
