The one RN who really stood out to me was Amber. She has a unique gift. When she enters the room (and she does so within seconds of calling), you are the only patient on the hospital floor. She is calm, detail-oriented, and 100% focused on patient comfort. Seriously, my IV would beep once and she would be in the room fixing it. She had no qualms about moving me, shifting me, explaining things to me or my husband. She has a natural talent for managing her workload, patient care, and listening. Perhaps some might call that bedside manner. From my perspective, she should have a team of junior nurses following her around, learning to replicate what Amber seems to do so effortlessly and naturally. It is a gift!
