Ms. Rennicks recognized what was going on and quickly stepped in to let Mother’s current RN know what to do to help Mother calm down until I returned.
My mother was admitted to Chambersburg Hospital and Amber Rennicks was her RN for several days. Ms. Rennicks was a great advocate for my mother when the doctors were in the room. She explained to the attending hospitalist Mother’s symptoms that she witnessed between their visits. Ms. Rennicks also advocated for additional tests and specialists to provide various health resources.
Ms. Rennicks continued to help my mother and me even when she was not assigned to us. She checked on us even when she was on duty but was assigned to other patients. She would bring me coffee, hug me, and generally provide tips on Mother’s care for the assigned RN.
One example of Ms. Rennicks going over and above was when I had left the hospital for a shower, and my mother got anxious in my absence. Ms. Rennicks recognized what was going on and quickly stepped in to let Mother’s current RN know what to do to help Mother calm down until I returned.
I hope that you consider giving the DAISY Award to Amber Rennicks for her professionalism and exceptional care for not only my mother, but for my mother’s whole family.
