I am honored to recognize this nurse for the extraordinary strength, skill, and heart she demonstrated during a critical event. She truly embodies PETALS.
Passion: She led two massive transfusion protocols with urgency and precision, remaining focused and determined as the situation escalated. Her commitment to saving her patient never wavered.
Empathy: Even in chaos, she never lost sight of the person at the center of it all. She provided care with dignity, compassion, and a protective presence at the bedside.
Teamwork: She coordinated seamlessly with physicians, anesthesia, the blood bank, and bedside staff during both MTPs and rapid transport to the OR. When the patient lost a pulse, she immediately climbed onto the bed and began compressions without hesitation, ensuring no delay in life-saving care.
Advocacy: She anticipated needs, escalated concerns promptly, and mobilized every available resource. She fought fiercely for her patient at every step.
Love for Patients and Profession: Her actions reflected a deep love for nursing and genuine devotion to those in her care.
Selflessness: After giving everything physically and emotionally, she still took time to thank and uplift her team.
