She stayed with me the entire time, recognizing the seriousness of the situation, and called a rapid response. I knew I was in good hands and that Amelia would not allow anything bad to happen to me.
I have had multiple hospitalizations recently, of 4 to 5 days duration each time. After some negative experiences, I would like to explain why I appreciate Amelia so much. Amelia listened to all of my concerns.

I was receiving several different antibiotics for an infection. I developed severe itching during the infusion. That evening, I developed chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing, and difficulty breathing during the next dose. They thought I was having a panic attack, called the doctor, and ordered breathing treatments. The next day, I had worsening symptoms when the antibiotic infusion started. Amelia immediately contacted the doctor, who asked if I was having another panic attack. Amelia could see and hear my respiratory distress. She stayed with me the entire time, recognizing the seriousness of the situation, and called a rapid response. I knew I was in good hands and that Amelia would not allow anything bad to happen to me. She did not leave me once during my allergic reaction. I told Amelia, “If you could be my nurse for every shift while I stayed in the hospital, I would give you a million dollars if I had it."

You can see how Amelia stands above & beyond any nurse I have ever had but she was very modest and did not share her last name for recognition. I have never received such great care and conscientious behavior from any other nurse. She went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and well taken care of, which meant the world to me. Thank you for having such an award program for special people like her that come along far too sparsely.
