Ami is awesome!! She was one of J's first nurses during our initial stay at Saint Peter's when he was originally diagnosed. All of this being new to us, Ami was a great help in guiding us, especially J on what to expect and how to deal with uncomfortable procedures like the PIC line and the port. She helped him understand some days will be bad, but others will be good. He began to appreciate her tough love approach as time has gone by. She pushed him to do things he didn't think he could. Now he looks forward to seeing her if he gets admitted. Ami has a sincere bond with J and always tries to stop by and say hi when he is not her patient. This extra effort makes him feel special. No one wants to be in the hospital, especially a thirteen year old, but at least he knows Ami enjoys seeing him when he is there.
