I received a call from a patient Amie cared for who had been in a house fire with his family. All he owned after the fire was what he came in with, his PJs and cell phone. As he was preparing to discharge his phone was almost dead. She went above and beyond by looking for a charger in the lost and found. The patient told me:
"When she couldn't find one she gave me her personal charger. When I said I wished I could pay for it, she said, "don't worry about it". This had such a dramatic affect by allowing me to be in contact with the Fire Marshall and insurance company. Her act of kindness has allowed me to help get my life back together. She took the time to listen and helped me."

Amie has been a wonderful addition to our staff this year and it is an immense pleasure to get to work with her. Over the time that I have known her, she consistently performs with competence and often goes above and beyond, doing more than expected. Amie exemplifies commitment to our patients, families, the community, and the organization in protecting, promoting, and optimizing health. In addition, she is an eager and fast learner, motivated to accomplish any task set in front of her. Amie is deserving of this award.
