Even my wife commented about what great patient skills Amillia had and how well she had treated me.
From the very first moment I was introduced to Amillia, at morning shift change, I knew that she was a vastly different and special kind of nurse. Normally at that time of the morning, most people just want to get the information and get on with it. Amillia however, had a smile on her face and was concerned about me as an individual (how I felt and if I had any needs). Her biggest concern was the fact that I had not taken any pain medication throughout the night. She advised me to start taking it now because Physical Therapy was going to be coming shortly and after which I would probably be in severe pain. I took her advice and was glad I did!
I have no idea of the frequency in which she visited me, but it seemed like it was quite often and each time the same smile was there and the humorous side of her came out, much to my pleasure. Unfortunately, I had to buzz the nurse’s station several times during my stay. Mostly it was because of a faulty drip line and the beeper going off, but there were a couple of times that it was for personal issues, and I am apologizing for it and Amillia is making a joke out of it; trying to lessen the stress level which was already there.
Even my wife commented about what great patient skills Amillia had and how well she had treated me. I have had a total of four operations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, and the care has always been excellent. However, this time the care I received from Amillia went beyond anything I had received in the past. She is a very dedicated RN, who puts the care of her patients first, and a smile on their faces.
